同步模式是利用系統的 Clock 觸發正反器，如果clock停了(Sleep Mode) 這時Timer 也就跟著停了，即使你使用的是外部的訊號輸入也是一樣。
如果你在 Sleep Mode 底下還希望Timer能利用外部的時序將CPU叫醒的話，就必須使用非同步模式。 例如 : Timer1 使用 32768Hz for the real time clock , 平常 PIC 是在 sleep mode 下以省電，這時就可以用 Timer1的中斷叫醒PIC。 如果這時你是設定為同步模式的話，你的PIC可能就會像睡美人一樣一睡就是百年

為什麼要有同步與非同步模式呢?不都是可以數嗎?實在是想不透.
